That
Byron Hoot

In the subtle absence of one
moment passing into another
we try to linger for what
the word longer can’t contain.
Though deeper, elongation
remain as maybe possibilities
if we can refrain from trying
to stop what cannot be stopped.
Funny to think what can be done
if we stop trying to do what
can’t be. Some would call that
eternity. Or immaculate reality.
